Big Sky Dog Training

Your whole family is welcome to join experienced, professional dog trainer Montana C. Hayes and Big Sky Dog Training at one of our popular group dog training programs. Montana has been a professional dog trainer for over 20 years and highly experienced.

Big Sky provides a safe and effective reward-based training program that teaches you how to train and care for your puppy or dog using leadership skills based on an understanding of canine behavior, developmental stages, and genetics.

Big Sky dog training program helps you learn how to develop an optimum relationship with your dog—a relationship that allows your dog to see you as a safe, strong, dependable, fair, and consistent leader that your dog wants to obey and please.


Tuesdays @ 7pm
Class Fee: $195.00 for 6 Weeks (includes training packet)
Age: Puppies 12 weeks and older


Thursdays @ 7pm
Class Fee: $195.00 for 6 Weeks (includes training packet)
Age: Puppies 20 weeks and older

Big Sky Class Information:

All classes at Little Paws Inn in Deer Park/Palatine are open to puppies 12 weeks and older. Your dog or puppy must be 18 inches or shorter at the shoulder at the time of the training class.

Big Sky Pre-registration is required:

Contact Montana C. Hayes at 847-997-4707. A Registration Notification form and Training Questionnaire form are available on Big Sky Dog Trainings’ WEB site – under the “forms” tab. Bring the completed; Training Questionnaire form to your first class along with your (vaccination paperwork unless it is on file at Little Paws Inn).

Register and Start Class Immediately:

All classes are on an open enrollment (OE) schedule. This means you can join a class at any time. Please contact Montana , the instructor before your show up for your first class via e-mail or phone (847-997-4707), and send through a pre-register form for the class day you want to attend by clicking on the class code and fill out the form on Example: If you want to register for Tuesday’s class, you would go to classes on Tuesdays for 6 weeks unless otherwise approved by Montana.

Free Private Lesson:

New students receive a FREE private ½ hour lesson before their first class. Please come in 45 minutes prior to your first class start time. This will allow you to complete the registration documents and go through a private ½ hour private lesson with Montana prior to the group class start date.

Free Manual/Reference Guide & Package:

First time students will receive a packet containing gifts, and training materials. A 133 page Training Manual /Reference Guide, dog cookies, sample shampoo and a toothbrush.

Price of the class:

The cost for one dog is $195. The 2nd time you go through the class the price is $180 because you have already received the packet.

What is the charge for 2 Dogs:

If a family brings more than one dog, they will both get a private dog training class their first time, one manual, and the second dog will be charged $175. You will need one handler for each dog.

Course Curriculum:

We have a course curriculum, but it is important to Montana that I meet the each student and hear what their objectives are. We answer your questions and training problems throughout the class.

Changing class:

If you are unable to make your regularity scheduled class, you can make it up by attending the other class day the same week.

Cancellation Policy:

If a class is canceled for any reason, you will be notified by phone and/or e-mail. It is a good idea to check your e-mail prior to class time and date.


A partial class refund is available if Montana is notified prior to the date of the second class. You will only be charged for the first class and $15.00 for the packet if you want to keep it. Phone: 847-997-4707.

Evaluating a new dog for daycare:
On the first day of daycare, we will do a thorough write up of your pets first day. When you pick up, we will go over the list with you. We will then let you know if we feel Little Paws Inn is a good fit for your dog.
